2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class to be Available in Three Trims in the US

The 2022 C-Class will be initially available with one engine, rear- or -all-wheel-drive configurations, three trim levels, and a plethora of additional options.

Mercedes-Benz unveiled the latest iteration of its luxury C-Class compact sedan in February this year. Then, we got a detailed look at the sedan’s appearance, revamped interior, and powertrain options at the time.

Now, the German marquee has revealed the trim levels for the US market and the list of standard and available features. Both C-Class models, the C300 and C300 4Matic will be available in three trim levels: Premium, Exclusive, and Pinnacle.

The Entry-Level C-Class Premium

Kicking off the 2022 C-Class range is the highly-equipped Premium trim. It features a host of advanced tech equipment that emphasizes its luxurious footprint. Notably, it incorporates Mercedes’ second-generation MBUX cockpit with a biometric fingerprint sensor, complemented by a 12.9-inch digital gauge cluster and an 11.9-inch portrait-oriented infotainment screen from the S-Class.

Furthermore, the Premium trim is high on safety with features like blind-spot assist, active brake assist, parking damage detection, and so on. Meanwhile, 18-inch wheels, LED lighting setup, heated front seats, and ambient lighting round off the list of standard amenities.

The Mid-Range C-Class Exclusive

Next in line is the Exclusive trim, which gets all standard features from the Premium trim, plus some additional goodies such as a 360° Surround-view camera system, inductive wireless charging, illuminated door sills, and a Burmester 3D audio system.

The Range-Topping Pinnacle Trim

The Pinnacle trim sits on the top of the C-Class range. It gets exclusive add-ons like a head-up display, a navigation system, and MBUX Augmented Video for navigation. Besides, it packs all features from the previous two trims.

Available options across the entire range include an AMG line package with the so-called Digital Light intelligent lighting system, heated steering wheel, panoramic roof, ventilated seats, Sirius Satellite Radio system, and more. Optional extra on the Exclusive and Pinnacle is the advanced driver assist package, and the latter also gets a dashcam and integrated toll pass.

Two Engines on Offer, But More to Arrive

The 2022 C300 and C300 4Matic utilize a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 255hp and 400nm (295lb-ft) of torque. The powertrain also features a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, which increases power and torque by 20hp and 221nm (148lb-ft), respectively, albeit for short periods.

Mercedes has been tight-lipped about pricing, but we expect it to be available as the sedan approaches its release date. As always, we’ll keep you posted on future updates.
