Liberty Walk Launches a Stunning Body Kit for the Ferrari 308

Japanese tuner Liberty Walk created quite a buzz by modifying a classic Ferrari 308 in its trademark over-the-top style.

Liberty Walk has a history of working with performance cars, making a name for itself by highly modifying JDM and exotic cars. This time, Liberty Walk laid its hands on a custom Ferrari 308 GTB—and the result is quite remarkable, as usual.

The most notable change Liberty Walk made on the all-time classic Ferrari 308 GTB is to provide it with a more aggressive stance by adding flared wheel arches, enhancing the car’s on-road presence. The tuner also added an air suspension system with a seamlessly-integrated control panel, significantly lowering the ride height and allowing its black matte wheels to sit comfortably under the reworked fenders.

The Japanese tuner also opted for a subtle front bumper and a new ducktail spoiler, complementing the matte black wheel arches. Although the outsides of this unique 308 GTB received a substantial makeover, Liberty Walk has not even touched the classic interior, which is a good thing, to be honest. Changing anything to that stunning old-school cabin would be nothing but sacrilegious if you ask me.

However, Liberty Walk’s vision of the Ferrari 308 GTB has not been accepted very well by purists. What triggered many Ferrari fans is the decision to retrim the body in a too radical manner for a classic Ferrari. But of course, over-the-top mods is Liberty Walk’s bread and butter. Some like it, others don’t, and that’s fine. After all, there are tons of more modest Ferrari tuners out there. To each his own, right?

About the Ferrari 308

The 308 GTB and 308 GTS were iconic two-seater sports cars manufactured by Ferrari throughout the 1970s and the 1980s. The 308 GTB was a Berlinetta or a sports coupe, whereas the 308 GTS was a Targa-topped or semi-convertible vehicle. Both these models were powered by a 2.9-liter, 255 hp, and 210 lb-ft of torque V8. The 308 GTB was first introduced by Ferrari at the 1975 Paris Motor Show as a spiritual successor to the Dino 246 two-seater sports car, whereas the 308 GTS was introduced in 1977 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
