Mahindra Formula E driver Alex Lynn had a horrific crash during the Diriyah E-Prix race, but fortunately, he got out of it without severe consequences.
Mahindra Racing made everyone happy, confirming that its driver Alex Lynn was in good condition and discharged from hospital on Saturday night. The driver had a severe accident in the second race of the test at the Diriyah circuit. You can see the full sequence of the event in a video published on Formula E’s official Twitter account. Suffice to say; the images freeze the blood.

In the video, you can see how the Mahindra driver was trying to overtake Mitch Evans’ Jaguar. But, when he tried to take over Evans from the inside at Turn 18, his car got catapulted and landed upside down, sliding on him until it stopped after hitting the protection barriers in the runoff area. It has been a stroke of luck that ended with him surviving almost intact.
After the crash, the emergency team immediately came into action and took Lynn to the hospital, where it conducted several tests for his well-being. The driver was conscious during the rescue. During this time, Evans was one of the first ones who checked on him, and that’s a real sportsmanship spirit.
Mitch Evans described the event as: “It was not a nice moment. At one point, I could see him above me,” Mitch Evans described the event. “It was not nice. But the main thing is he’s all good. I saw him go into the wall, and I jumped out to make sure he was OK. You never want to see that sort of stuff. He’s a friend as well. You don’t want to see people go through that. Hopefully, there’s a replay out soon. But I think it’s a racing incident. We were racing hard for P-Nowhere.”
As of now, Alex Lynn has been declared fit to race the next Formula E race in Rome on April 10.
