The collectible Transit Connect takes inspiration from the Ford Supervan.
Specialized in modifying Ford vehicles and backed up by 40 years of rally and track racing under the M-Sport brand, the British tuning firm MS-RT came up with its own take on the Ford Transit Connect. Dubbed the “R120”, this Transit Connect has been modified with a body kit and unique features, already making it a collector’s item. The R120 will see no more than 30 units being sold in the UK.
The R120 is modified at Pontypool, Wales, and features several upgrades over the stock Transit Connect. For instance, the front bumper now features a more aggressive styling for better aerodynamics. OZ Racing alloy wheels fill in the big wheel arches, and the R120 also features a quad-tip exhaust system, which can be controlled via optional Maxhaust tech pumping the sound of a sports exhaust via the van’s interior speakers.
The rear features red-and-black decals on the rear swing-door and sides, plus a black roof spoiler. Other exterior changes include aggressive side skirts, rear-wheel vents, blacked-out mirror caps, and bi-xenon blacked-out headlamps. These changes, combined with the Frozen White color scheme, give the R120 a very serious racing stance.

The interior has also been bumped up in quality, with leather seats trimmed with red stitching. The carbon-fiber sports steering wheel has the race-spec red center line, adding to the sportiness. However, all other features available in the top-spec Transit Connect remain unchanged, so the R120 still has Ford’s Pass Connect, cruise control, and a wireless mobile charging pad. Some practicality was retained with a backup camera and dual sliding doors for easy access. Also, the R120 can be ordered as a two-seater or a three-seater.
The R120’s powertrain remains the same: a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel producing 118 horsepower. This is unfortunate as there was a possibility of swapping the diesel with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, which peaks out at 345 horsepower. The diesel powertrain is available with a standard 6-speed manual or an optional automatic.
MS-RT’s R120 is priced at £25,995 with VAT and can get up to £31,194 with the Queen’s taxes. Although quite expensive for a Ford van, MS-RT promises that this is a one-time special edition run, meant for collectors looking to add an ultra-rare sporty Transit to their collection.
