Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 is Official with a 6.4-liter 470-HP V8

Here comes the new off-road king — the HEMI-powered 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392.

With all its new tech and features, the Rubicon 392 was quick enough to steal the spotlight from the Ford Bronco. According to Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep at FCA North America, this is the most powerful and the most capable Wrangler ever built yet.

Engine and Performance

Jeep has left no stones unturned in tweaking up the power figures on this vehicle. The Wrangler Rubicon 392 comes with a massive 6.4-liter V8 HEMI, churning out a whopping 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, making it the first Wrangler to have a V8. The 392 is a nod to the old days when displacement was measured in cubic inches, and everything was about raw power and rumbling V8s.

A quick-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission enables it to sprint from 0-62 mph in just 4.5 seconds, quite impressive for a truck that weighs more than 2 tons. Moreover, the Rubicon is equipped with heavy-duty wide track Dana 44 axles, a 3.73 final drive ratio, and a transmission torque converter lockup control making it ideal for climbing rocks at low speeds or powering up an incline.

Better Comfort and Maneuverability

The Rubicon has 17-inch Beadlock wheels wrapped in massive 33-inch tires and a ground clearance of 10.3 inches. Moreover, wading through 32.5 inches of water is a cakewalk for this mechanical behemoth capable of crawling through even the most demanding trails thanks to approach, break-over, and departure angles of 44.5, 22.6, and 37.5 degrees, respectively.

Inside reports even claim that the Rubicon went through brutal testing, including climbing steep hills, ultimately proving the vehicle’s off-road capability.

Redesigned Interior and Improved Infotainment

The interior of the Rubicon also gets its fair share of upgrades. For instance, it now comes with aluminum paddle shifters, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a black leather interior with beautiful bronze stitching.

With the new massive 8.4-inch infotainment system, Jeep makes sure everything is accessible with just a touch. The new and improved FCA’s Uconnect infotainment system supports all the latest tech and features Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Even the digital cluster has been improved, displaying vital information such as pitch and roll.

Same Exterior but New Color Options

From an aesthetic point of view, the Rubicon is nearly identical to its siblings. However, it comes with an aggressive 1.57-inch raised hood that feeds air into its massive 6.4-liter HEMI. Other styling attributes include unique bronze accents all over the hood, front and rear tow hooks, as well as Fox Shocks, Jeep, and Trail Rated badges.

It also comes with nine new color options — Black, Bright White, Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal Metallic, Sarge Green Metallic, Snazzberry Metallic, Sting-Gray Metallic, and Billet Silver Metallic. A matching hard top is also available as a premium feature along with matching flares, steel bumpers, and new LED headlights.

The highly anticipated 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 is expected to hit the US markets by spring 2021.
