The 2023 Lexus GX 460 returns for another year with minor changes, but it should be enough to stay afloat, particularly among the camping and overlanding audience.
Last year, the GX brought forth an array of much-awaited features, including the Black Line Special Edition, which returns for 2023 MY. However, the model boasts minor changes, including a larger 10.3-inch touchscreen in the middle. Moreover, the model gets standard navigation, parking sensors, and power-folding.
However, the SUV is hard to differentiate from its predecessor. The 2023 GX still features the classic boxy design and even comes in fewer exterior colors. The Claret Mica shade is off, while the Eminent White Pearl replaces the Starfire Pearl.
However, the Black Line adds some cosmetic goodies to the GX, starting with the exclusive Eminent White Pearl or Nori Green Pearl color options. Moreover, Lexus gave a dark finish to various bits, including the grille, fog lights, skid plate, shark fin, and 18-inch wheels.
Inside, the GX Black Line features a black car roof lining, gray stitching, Black Matte Ash Wood trim on the steering wheel, and a Boulder Gray NuLuxe-trimmed seat accent.
Furthermore, the GX features a Panoramic View Monitor bird’s eye camera system to help you navigate challenging terrains.
The GX still packs the ancient 4.6-liter V8, producing 301 hp and 329 lb-ft of torque, enough for a 0-60 mph time of 7.8 seconds. Far from impressive, but this particular engine is famous for its reliability and durability.
Finally, the Luxury trim brings many more safety features under the Lexus Safety System+ and a Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound Audio system.
The refreshed GX will be available in the final quarter of 2022, with prices beginning at $57,575 for the base model and $62,310 for the Black Line SE.
Lexus will build only 3,000 units of the GX Black Line, though the model might return for 2024 MY or until the next-gen GX arrives.
