The Lexus RX Black Line variant will be available in Eminent White Pearl or Caviar and packs black accents inside and out.
Lexus launched the limited-edition Black Line variant for the RX L last month, which meant that the regular RX would be next. And now it’s official; the Japanese manufacturer has announced the 2022 RX Black Line variant with new paint color options. There will be 2500 units available for US customers, of which 2100 will be RX 350s, with the rest being RX 450h hybrids.
The Black Line trim brings a refreshed look with, as the name implies, dominant black accents all around, including 20-inch blacked-out wheels and black lug nuts, a black spindle grille, black rearview mirrors caps, a black lower front bumper, and a black nameplate badge on the tailgate. The RX Premium Package also now comes as standard across the Black Line range, bringing Lexus Memory System for the driver seat, steering wheel, and side mirrors.
Inside the cabin, the luxury crossover gets black open-pore wood trim and black NuLuxe seats with light gray stitching that expands to the console, shift boot, steering wheel, and upper instrument panel. Additionally, the cabin features black floor mats, a black cargo mat, and black key gloves to align with the dark theme.
Unfortunately, the RX Black Line doesn’t receive any performance upgrades. The RX 350 still packs a 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 295 hp and 267 lb-ft, with an 8-speed auto transmission and standard front-wheel drive or optional AWD system.
Meanwhile, the RX 450h hybrid is equipped with Toyota’s V6 3.5-liter engine supported by three electric motors for a combined output of 308 hp. It also comes with a standard all-wheel-drive system and an e-CVT.
The special edition RX 350 Black Line starts at $49,450, while the RX 450h will set you back $52,150 in the US.
