The 2022 Buick Enclave receives a front end similar to the smaller Envision crossover, restyled interior dashboard, and more standard safety equipment.
The Enclave three-row SUV is an essential model in Buick’s lineup and a decent selling vehicle in the United States, averaging around 50,000 sales a year since 2010. The premium SUV has been thoroughly refreshed for the 2022 model year. It now offers better value with minor cosmetic changes, new standard and optional equipment, and an extensive suite of must-have driver-assist and safety technologies.
Starting with the styling revisions, the 2022 Enclave features just enough changes to distinguish it from previous versions. These enhancements include an updated front fascia with a larger grille, reworked front and rear bumpers, new LED headlamp and taillight units, and new designs for the 20-inch alloy wheels.
Furthermore, the top-tier Avenir trim feels more distinctive, with unique front and rear ends, a distinct grille with mesh pattern, redesigned taillamps, liftgate emblems, body-color sill trim, and new wheel design options.
The most noticeable change inside is the redesigned center console that now features a push-button electronic transmission panel rather than the mechanical gear lever found in prior generations. The 2022 Enclave also includes heated and cooled front seats with massage function as standard and various soft-touch materials throughout the cabin.
The Avenir trim maintains its premium ambiance with a distinct real wood trim, quilted leather seat upholstery with piping, and a chrome sill plate at the storage compartment.
The Buick Driver Confidence Plus Package, which includes nine advanced assistance and safety aids, is also standard in the 2022 Enclave. It has automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane departure warning, rear parking assist, front pedestrian braking, following distance indicator, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision alert, and IntelliBeam auto high beams.
Meanwhile, the Avenir trim gains an active suspension system with continuous damping control, adaptive cruise control, and enhanced automatic emergency braking.
Besides, a heads-up color display, rear-view camera monitor, and rear pedestrian alert are optional extras, while wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard.
Buick has not yet announced pricing for the 2022 Enclave. However, more details will be available closer to the vehicle’s launch date by the end of this summer.
