Audi added a new plug-in hybrid hatchback, the A3 Sportsback 40 TFSI e, powered by a 1.4-liter TFSI gasoline engine.
According to the German automaker, the new A3 is based upon the A3 Sportback e-Tron. With a larger battery capacity and an advanced hybrid powertrain, the A3 is the flag bearer of its latest state of the art hybrid technology.
Effortless Performance
This plug-in hybrid is powered by a four-cylinder 1.4 TFI engine working in conjunction with a power-dense electric drive system. The combustion unit produces a power output of 110 kW and 250 Nm of torque, while the electric motor produces 80 kW of power and 330 Nm of torque. Paired with a six-speed S Tronic dual-clutch transmission, the 1.4 TFSI and the electric motor delivers a total system output of 150 kW (201-HP), enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 227 km/h.
Efficient Drive Management and Best-in-Class Range
Audi’s drive management system has always prioritized efficient driving, made evident from the fact that the company introduced an all-new EV button for the A3 Sportback. It can cover up to 78 kilometers(NEDC), 67 kilometers(WLTP), and reach a top speed of 140 km/h in all-electric mode. In hybrid mode, the car consumes between 1.5 and 1.4 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (156.8–168.0 US mpg).
The advance drive management system also uses a large amount of data to assist navigation, sensors, and system supply. It also offers two charging modes for the battery; the “Battery hold” mode used to hold the battery charge at the current level while the “Battery charge” mode does the obvious.

Optimized Design and Utility
Like most of its other siblings, the A3 Sportback offers excellent driving pleasure and everyday utility. The car is 4.34 meters long and comes with 280 to 1,100 liters of luggage space.
From an aesthetic standpoint, the car received a sportier and aggressive look complete with a newly designed front, digital daytime running lights, and customizable Matrix LED headlights.
The car’s interior features a compact shifter, striking door openers, a large black panel surface in the instrument panel, and a seat upholstery made of recycled PET bottles.
The A3 Sportback 40 TFSI e comes with a maximum charging power of 2.9 kW, which will fully charge the battery in just over four hours. Customers can now remotely control charging times and climate using the myAudi app.
Advanced Safety and Multimedia Features
With a 10.1 inch MMI display, Audi makes sure everything is within your reach. Audi’s third-generation modular infotainment platform offers seamless connectivity features, including Apple Car Play, Android Auto.
Other features include Car-to-X, MMI navigation plus, Wi-Fi hotspot, a leather multifunction steering wheel, a two-zone automatic air conditioning system, a head-up display, and sport seats with integrated head restraints.
Moreover, safety features include Audi pre sense front, lane departure warning, turn assist, swerve assist, and the optional adaptive cruise assist system.
