CFMoto is finally coming out with its new MT800, based on the KTM 790 Adventure edition. Thanks to some approval-paperwork, information and images of the vehicle have been released to the public, and enthusiasts just can’t wait to get their hands on one.

CFMoto is known for working with KTM and supplying engines for many of its bikes sold in other countries. With KTM confirming plans to further strengthen its relationship with the Chinese manufacturer, the MT800 gets the same engine as KTM in its 790 Adventure and 790 Duke models.

The 799cc LC8C parallel-twin engine is capable of producing 94 HP and 64.9 lb-ft of torque. The frame is also similar to the 790 Adventure, while KTM has moved its 790cc vehicles to the 890cc category, giving way for CFMoto to produce a less powerful version.

The main difference in design comes from the different swingarm, slightly longer than the KTM 790 Adventures, and the wheelbase now increased to 60.3 inches. The MT800 is expected to be available in two versions, with the adventure version having old-school wire wheels and aluminum plates protecting the exhaust and engine. The road-version will have alloy wheels and no plates under the engine.

The KTM 790 Adventure has 21- and 18-inch wheels in the front and rear, but CFMoto has decreased the wheels’ size to 19- and 17-inches, with 110/80 and 150/70 tires, respectively. The images also show the bike having reflectors on the fork, which suggests it might be released in Europe and the US.

Interestingly, the MT800 is not the only motorbike CFMoto is planning to release this year. The bike manufacturer revealed its new 1250TR-G to the public earlier, which uses KTM’s V-twin engine. Moreover, CFMoto is expected to develop more models in the 750cc lineup than KTM and its Duke and Adventurer.

That being said, it might take a while until the MT800 is officially launched, as CFMoto still hasn’t confirmed the release date yet.

Stay tuned! We’ll keep you posted.
