The Sonata N Line will be a “hot” mid-size sedan with 290 horsepower and sharp looks.
Hyundai launched a sporty-looking version of its mid-size sedan to compete with Toyota Camry TRD and Honda Accord Sport. The 2021 Sonata N Line performance variant comes with a more aggressive exterior, fitting surprisingly well with the overall aesthetic. Unlike the competition, though, Hyundai also upgraded the engine inside the car.
Under the bonnet lies a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder producing up to 290 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque, paired to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Furthermore, the Sonata N Line will sit 0.2-inches lower to the ground and feature upgraded anti-roll bars, coil springs, and dampers. Hyundai finishes up the performance upgrades with larger brake rotors for better-stopping power.
On the outside, the car differentiates from regular models with a quad exhaust at the rear. Moreover, 19-inch alloy wheels, side skirts, a rear diffuser, and black bumper trims really bring out the Sonata’s sportier side. The inside is equally dynamic with sports seats and dark chrome accents.
“The 2021 Sonata N Line will attract more customers to both the rock-solid Sonata lineup and our increasingly popular N Line sub-brand. Sonata N Line will appeal to customers who desire sporty styling in a sedan package,” said SangYup Lee, Head of the Hyundai Global Design Center.
Hyundai’s upcoming Sonata N Line should go on sale in the second half of 2021. However, the manufacturer didn’t confirm whether or not that date might change due to the pandemic.
