2024 Buick Encore GX Arrives With A Brand-New Logo And Styling

The refreshed 2024 Encore GX will be the first Buick to flash the brand’s new tri-shield logo, though the mechanics remain the same.

Buick’s subcompact SUV arrived in 2019, but with the market moving so quickly, the company decided a big facelift was in order. With a completely new face and styling theme, the 2024 Encore GX shows the direction Buick will go with its future offerings. The new Encore GX packs a lot of new features inside the cabin too, which is much more hi-tech now.

The facelift gives the 2024 Encore GX an alluring style update. The refreshed model now flaunts a sleek grille with elegant LED lights on both sides, taking cues from the Buick Wildcat EV Concept and Electra EV. The new-style daytime running lights are also sharper and sit on top of the grille to give more verticality to the front end. But the biggest update on the 2024 Encore GX is Buick’s brand-new tri-shield logo, which will soon jump onto the brand’s other models.

At the rear end, the upgrades are slight and subtle. The ST and Avenir trims get new clear taillight senses, but LED lights are standard for all variants. Moreover, 19-inch chrome wheels carry the Avenir trim forward, whereas the ST gets black wheels with dark accents.

Although the 2024 Encore GX looks like a brand-new model, it remains the same underneath, with the same three-cylinder turbocharged engines. Namely, the entry-level model gets a 1.2-liter unit producing 137 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque, while the slightly larger 1.3-liter engine produces 155 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque.

Like before, the 2024 Encore GX will also be available with front-wheel drive as standard, along with a CVT. However, customers can opt for all-wheel drive and a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Following popular fashion, the 2024 Encore GX also gets complete remodeling inside the cabin. The updated dashboard sports what the automaker calls a Virtual Cockpit System (VCS), replacing most buttons and dials with the new touch displays.

The VCS system boasts an 11-inch infotainment system in the middle and an 8-inch configurable touchscreen display for the driver. Fortunately, Buick retained the physical HVAC controls for quicker operation.

As for cabin comfort, the flagship Avenir goes all out with a beige leather theme that complements the black surfaces well. Meanwhile, the ST trim opts for a flat-bottomed steering wheel to give you that fun vibe.

The 2024 Buick Encore GX starts at a base price of $26,895 for the Preferred trim with the destination charge included and goes up to $33,195 for the Avenir. Production begins in March, whereas orders open in May.
