The brand-new 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz seems like a terrific deal!
While the Ford Maverick is significantly more affordable, starting at $19,995, the Santa Cruz packs the latest technology and several additional features, more than making up for its higher price tag.
Under the hood, it comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 190+ hp and 180+ lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission delivers the power to the front wheels, although an AWD system is a $1,500 optional extra.
Furthermore, the $27,190 Santa Cruz SEL features heated front seats, illuminated sun visors, heated side mirrors, comfortable seats, and a compact steering wheel. The optional $3,270 Activity Package adds sliding rear windows, a wireless smartphone charger, an electric sunroof, bright LED lights, a rail system inside the bed, and a massive 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
Customers looking for a little more power can opt for the $35,680 Santa Cruz SEL Premium, packing a 2.5-liter engine turbocharged engine producing 275+ hp and 310+ lb-ft of torque, good enough for a decent 3,500 lbs to 5,000 lbs towing capacity. In this case, the all-wheel-drive system and eight-speed dual-clutch transmission come as standard. Other notable additional features include an auto-dimming rear-view mirror with Homelink, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Last but not least, the range-topping $39,720 Limited Edition, massive 10.25-inch infotainment cluster paired with a dynamic Bose premium audio system, rear air vents, ambient lighting, and even more comfortable seats, is as luxurious as it gets.
As usual, Hyundai left no stones unturned when it comes to safety. Notable features include Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Highway Driving Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Surround View Monitor, and Smart Cruise Control.
The 2022 Santa Cruz will go on sale by the end of this month.
