Zhiji L7 front 3/4

Zhiji L7 is an Electric Super-Sedan With a 620-Mile Range and Wireless Charging

The Zhiji L7 packs a massive 118-kWh battery that provides a 620-mile range and supports 11-kW wireless charging, enough for a 50-mile range with one hour charge.

As the EV segment grows each day, new companies step up with ridiculous vehicles and specifications that push the industry forward. The growing need for sustainability has pushed many brands to make something unique. It is the same story with Zhiji, a Chinese collaboration between SAIC, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech, and the Alibaba Group. Namely, the brand revealed the L7 electric sports-sedan alongside an upcoming SUV.

The sedan features 11-kW wireless charging with a 91% efficiency. Zhiji says that a one-hour wireless charge will give the L7 an 80-km (50-mile) range. Moreover, the L7 is available with two battery packs—a 93-kWh unit for a 390-mile range and a long-range variant with a 118-kWh pack providing a 620-mile range. The drivetrain produces 540 HP and 516 lb-ft of torque, pushing the L7 to a 3.9 seconds 0-60mph time. On top of that, the Chinese brand even incorporated autonomous driving tech in the L7.

And, can we just acknowledge the fact that the Zhiji L7 looks very attractive? The automaker says the design is “pure Zhiji,” and we are all for it. It looks sleek and sporty with thin headlights and taillights that look like streaks running from one side to another. The sedan will be available in three colors: Diana White, Repin Black, and Rapheal Tea.

Meanwhile, the cabin features a huge 39-inch 4K resolution smart screen across the dashboard with an intelligent OS. But Zhiji thought that wasn’t enough and incorporated another screen on the center console.

Zhiji Auto will start accepting orders for the L7 electric sports sedan at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show, with deliveries planned for the first half of 2022.
