Honda Recalls Pioneer 700 and 1000 UTVs Over Steering Issues

If you live in the US and own a Honda Pioneer 700 or Pioneer 1000 off-road vehicle equipped with Electric Power Steering (EPS), this one’s for you!

Recently, Honda announced that it is recalling certain models equipped with EPS, namely Honda Pioneer 700 models built anywhere between 2017 and 2020 as well as Pioneer 1000 models assembled between 2016 and 2020

As reported by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, this recall is due to customer complaints regarding a loss of steering control.

Quickly responding to the problem, Honda recalls roughly 118,600 Pioneer 700 and 1000. After a thorough investigation, the automaker identified the cause problem and came up with a solution. It will notify affected owners and instructed that consumers should immediately stop using their vehicle. Fortunately, there have been no reports of accidents or injuries due to this issue yet, but just in case.

In order to resolve the issue, affected owners are required to immediately contact their nearest authorized dealerships and book an appointment. Dealers will investigate the matter and install new parts if needed.

Once again, there is a potential crash risk with this issue so we can’t press you enough to give a quick call to your nearest dealer. If you aren’t sure if your Pioneer is equipped with EPS, the representative will be able to let you know using your UTV’s VIN number.

Of course, Honda assured that all the repairs will be done free of charge.
