Waving goodbye to the 4C sports car, Alfa Romeo sends it off with a glorious tribute.
If there’s one thing that automobile enthusiasts agree on, it is that Alfa Romeo used to make some really cool and stunningly beautiful sports cars. Among them was the elusive 33 Stradale, one of the world’s first supercars and visual inspiration for automobiles like the 8C grand tourer and the 4C sports car.
However, Alfa Romeo has already stopped production of the 4C Coupe in North America and is now planning to finish it off with a bang. The 4C Spyder 33 Stradale Tributo, as the name suggests, have design elements and features paying homage to the absolutely stunning supercar of the 60s.
Only 33 examples of the Stradale Tributo will be produced in North America. It will still be powered by the turbo 4-cylinder pushing out 237 hp, sending all that power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The car’s small size and low weight translate to brilliant performance as the 2015 model of the 4C could launch to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. Interestingly, the 33 Stradale Tributo’s custom Akrapovič dual-mode center-mounted exhausts and stiffer suspension could even improve that time a little more.
Other features unique to the Tributo include the special cherry red color Alfa Romeo calls “Rosso Villa d’Este”. For reference, the standard 4C Spyder had two other red color options, Alfa Rosso and Rosso Competizione. But clad in Rosso Villa d’Este and sporting gold wheels, the Tributo looks beautifully retro. The interior has black suede and tobacco leather, and there are bits of carbon-fiber and subtle Italian flag mirror caps.
The 4C Spyder 33 Stradale Tributo is a fitting tribute to the most lucid car in Alfa Romeo’s history. Unfortunately, only 33 lucky people will be able to get their hands on this beautiful sports car, which is expected to arrive in the US in February 2021, with a price tag of $81,590.
