The Ram Marines edition is one of five variants of the “Built to Serve” series.
Ram has announced a special-edition run of the 1500 series pickup trucks to pay respect to the US military’s five branches – the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. Dubbed the “Built to Serve” edition, these trucks will have branch-specific variants, rolling out the production line every three months.
The Ram 1500 Marines variant comes with unique color schemes, such as Tank and Flame Red. Ram will be making 1000 units in each color. These trucks have blacked-out exterior elements like the front grille, bumpers, and exhaust pipes. Special 20-inch wheels are standard across all the variants, filling the body-colored wheel arches proportionately.
There are also American flag decals on the quarter panels and “Built to Serve” badging all over the truck. The interior features Black Onyx Chrome trimming on the dashboard, bolstered cloth, and vinyl seats. It is adorned with the same “Built to Serve” badging on the instrument cluster. Velcro panels on the seats can be used to apply Morale patches to personalize their truck.
The “Built to Serve” edition also features the Off-Road package consisting of all-terrain tires, a stronger electronically lockable rear differential, larger front and rear shock absorbers, factory-installed skid plates, and tow hooks. These special trucks will be available for all body styles and powertrains, which could possibly include the monstrous 702-horsepower Ram 1500 TRX performance truck.
Apart from the Marine variant, customers can choose between Army variant available in Gator and Diamond Black Crystal colors, Navy available in Ceramic Grey and Patriot Blue, the Air Force and Coast Guard. While the Marine, Army, and Navy variants will see no more than 1000 units in each color, the Air Force will have 1250 units in Anvil color scheme and 1500 units in Billet Silver Metallic color scheme. The Coast Guard model is the most exclusive of the lot, with just 500 units in Spitfire and Bright White colors each.
