The 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is Germany’s notion of ultra-luxury, competing against the established British rivals.
Two months after announcing the all-new 2021 S-Class, the German manufacturer unveiled the most opulent version yet – the ultra-luxurious Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, equipped with segment-leading comfort and technology.
Under the hood lies a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission, producing 496 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Furthermore, the EQ Boost System offers an additional 21 horsepower and 184 lb-ft torque.
The Maybach S-Class’ wheelbase is also seven inches longer than the standard S-Class, providing even more legroom and better comfort.
Let’s move on to the most exciting part of the new Maybach — its interior. The cabin obviously borrows from the regular Mercedes S-Class. However, it’s now dressed in top-class materials, offering an incredible amount of space, five displays, and an opulent atmosphere. Moreover, it even comes with optional silver champagne flutes and a refrigerator compartment.
Meanwhile, the rear doors are power-operated, requiring very little effort to open or close. To round up the posh experience, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class’ cabin is even quieter than the regular model, thanks to its active road noise compensation system.
Other luxurious features include a massage function for the rear seats and heating for the neck and shoulders. Furthermore, the standard executive seats and chauffeur package provide a truly remarkable experience. Overall, the new 2021 Maybach S-Class has all the delights a customer can expect from the brand.
The exterior of the Maybach S-Class appears to be very classy with the two-tone paint scheme, which actually takes about a week to apply by hand. Other interesting design features include a Maybach grille with vertical chrome pinstripes, a signature Maybach emblem on the C-pillar, and a unique hood with a chromed fin.
When it comes to safety and technology, Mercedes always comes up with promising new features and innovations. The new Maybach S-Class cabin features no less than 18 airbags, including frontal airbags for rear-seat passengers. Besides, the seats have an inflatable belt strap, protecting occupants in the event of a crash.
The Maybach S-Class also comes with Mercedes’ MBUX system, enabling networking with a wide range of sensor data, advanced drive-assist features such as steering assist, attention assist, and active lane-keeping assist.
The 2021 Maybach S-Class should prove to be a tough competitor to the Rolls-Royce Phantom and Bentley Mulsanne. By fulfilling all the latest luxury and technology requirements, the German ultra-sedan strives to continue its successful run and should do so, thanks to its unique selling features.
