2021 Audi Announces All-New Q5 and SQ5 Sportback

Audi USA has finally announced its pricing for the all-new 2021 Audi Q5 and SQ5 Sportback.

Ever since its introduction in 2009, the Q5 has been Audi’s best-selling vehicle in the US year after year. Despite the global pandemic, Audi Q5 sales totaled more than 50,000 units in 2020, great numbers considering it is a luxury vehicle with a premium price tag.

The 2021 Audi Q5 Sportback is powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI engine producing 261 hp at 273 lb-ft of torque. It also features Audi’s iconic Quattro all-wheel-drive system and a swift 7-speed dual-clutch 5-Tronic transmission, good enough to go from 0 to 60 mph in under 5.7 seconds.

The Q5 Sportback Premium will go on sale for $47,800. The Premium Plus variant will set you back $51,000, while the Prestige version has a sticker price of $56,500.

On the other hand, the 2021 Audi SQ5 is powered by a  turbocharged 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine churning out 349 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. The higher trim also comes with an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission, allowing it to reach 60 mph in a mere 4.7 seconds.

The SQ5 Sportback Premium will cost $56,100, while the Premium Plus carries a price tag of $59,500 and $64,700 for the Prestige version.

Audi first introduced the compact Q5 SUV in 2008, and ever since its launch, this line of sporty and luxurious SUVs has been one of the best-selling vehicles for the German manufacturer. The Q5 was first showcased at the 2008 Beijing Motor Show and the 2008 Los Angeles Motor Show a few months later.

The Q5 first arrived in North America in early 2009. It was offered in 4 different models with power outputs ranging between 141 and 266 hp. With the improved third-generation, we can expect the Q5 to keep Audi in the spotlight for years to come.
