There are many different engine variants to the GasGas EC. The first EC was produced in 1998. They offered a 300 which produced 297 cc as well as several other models. The 300 produced 50 horsepower and had features such as a liquid cooled, two stroke engine, as well as a race-grade Ohlins monoshock suspension. There was also a smaller 250 series which had 249 cc model available at the time with a two stroke engine. The 200 with 199 cc put out 38 horsepower. The 125 offered 124 cc produced 37 horsepower and came with a large 21 inch front tire.
GasGas continued on with these styles over the years with changes to improve the racing style of the bikes. In 2001 they introduced the EC 400 FSE Supermotard. It came standard with city and track friendly wheels and a single seat, digital information display, and produced 47 horsepower. They also produced the 400 FSE, 300, 250, 200, and 125 for the same model year.
In 2005 they introduced the GasGas EC 450 FSE. It was presented as a middle weight off-road model. It can with the Ohlins suspension system, front and rear disc brakes with Nissin calipers, and an under-seat mounted exhaust. The engine was a four-stroke 449 cc that put out 50 horsepower. They also came out with the EC 200 Hobby model the same year. This style is also friendly for public road use. It can with blinkers, headlights, taillights, and brake lights.
In 2008 GasGas released the EC 450 ESR. This style was created for enduro racing. It was fitting with a new exhaust system, new foot pegs, and eye catching designs. It put out 50 horsepower. In 2009 they released the EC 300 Nambotin Replica. It was limited to only 200 motorbikes. It had a custom color scheme and was eye catching in any crowd. That same year, they released the 250 4T. It offered better fuel efficiency. They also released the EC 250 2T Cross Country. It is a naked design with only the necessities and was made specifically for off road use. The GasGas EC is still being produced with more changes made to make the bike more appealing to riders of all styles.
