EMISSION CONTBOL INFORMATION To protect the environment in which we all live, Kawasaki has incorporated crankcase emission (1) and exhaustemission (2) control systems in compliance with applicable reg- ulations of the United States Environmenal Protection Agency and CaliforniaAir Re sourcesBoard. Additionally, Kawasaki has incorporatedan evaporative emission control system{3} in compliance with applicable regulations of the CaliforniaAir Resources Board on vehicles soldin California only. 1. Crankcase Emission Control System This systemeliminates the release of crankcase vapors into the atmosphere.Instead, the vapors are routed through an oil separator to the intake sideof the engine. While the engine is operating, the vapors aredrawn into combustionchamber, where they are burned alongwith the fuel and air supplied by the carburetion system. 2. Exhaust Emission Control System This systemreduces the amount of pollutants discharged into the atmosphere by the exhaustof this motorcycle. The fuel and ignition systemsof this motorcyclehave beencarefully designed and constructed to encrre an efficient engine with loriv exhaust pollutant levels. 3. Evaporative Emission Control'System Vaporscaused by fuel waporation in the fuel systemare not vented into the atmos phere. Instead, fuel vaporsare routed into the runningengine to be burned, or stored in a canister when the engine is stopped. Liquid fuel is caughtby a vapor separator and returned to the fuel tank. The CleanAir Act, which is the Fede€l law coveringmotor vehicle pollution, contains what is commonly referred to asthe Act's "tampering provisions."
