IIONIfDA VT7OOI750 INTERCEPTOR HOW TOUSE THIS MANUAT This manual is basedon the VF7sOF. Any information that differs between the VF7OOF and VF750F is called out in the text or in a note. Followthe Maintenance Schedule (Section 3) recommendations to ensure that the vehicle is in peak operating condition and the emission levels are within the standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Performing the first scheduled maintenance is very important. lt compensates for the initial wear that occurs duringthe break-in period. Sections 1 through3 apply to the whole motorcycle, while sections4 through 20 describe parts of the motorcycle, grouped according to location. Find the section you want on this page, then turn to the tableof contents on page 1 of that section. Most sections start with an assembly or system illustration, service information and troubleshooting for the section. Use genuine HONDA or HONDA-recommendedparts and lubricants or their equivalent.Parts that do not meet HONDA's designspecif icationsmay damage the motorcycle. 2. Use the special tools designed for this product. 3. Use only metric tools when servicingthis motorcycle. Metric bolts, nuts, and screwi are not interchangeable with English fasteners. The use of incorrect tools and fasteners may damage the motorcycle. 4. lnstall new gaskets, O-rings, cotter pins, lock plates, etc. when reassembling. 5. When tightening bolts or nuts, begin with larger-diameter or inner bolts first, and tighten to the specified torque diagonally, unless a particular sequence is specified. 6. Clean parts in cleaning solvent upon disassembly. Lubricate any sliding surfaces before reassembly. 7. After reassembly, check all parts for proper installationand operation.
