Ducati 899 Service Repair Motorbike Manuals
The Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Ducati, produced the 899 model for about two years. This model was also often referred to as the Ducati 899 Panigale. It held an 898 cc engine and was launched to the public in 2013. The 899 replaced the previous Ducati 848 model. The 899 Panigale, like other Ducati models was named after Borgo Panigale, a northern Italian city. While production of the 899 did stop in late 2015, many people all over the world are still in possession of them. Ducati technicians often refer to a Ducati 899 service manual in order to perform routine services and maintenance. Owners too, who work on their own bikes can utilize these manuals.
The Ducati 899 shares a very similar engine with a previous model known as the 1199 Panigale. With 148 horsepower, the 899 weighs in at 373 pounds dry. It has a two-sided swingarm which is different than the 1199 that had a single-sided one. Ducati announced the two-sided swingarm was due to other improvements that the 899 was given. These improvements included electronically adjustable anti-lock brakes as well as traction and electronic braking control. Ducati also announced that the 899 was the first medium sized motorbike released by them to hold a Superquadro engine – a 90 degree, V-twin four-stroke engine that has a desmodromic valve system with four valves per cylinder.
The majority of the Ducati 899 was made of aluminum monocoque which allowed for a light but quick ride. During the winter of 2013, the first year that the 899 was in production, sales of the model were through the roof in the United Kingdom. At the time, the Honda CBF125 was the number one seller but the Ducati 899 surprised enthusiasts by selling for five times the price.
Over the 2 years of production, Ducati didn’t make many changes to the 899 model. However, there were small improvements such as enlarging the engine and improving the materials. In 2015, when Ducati stopped producing the 899, it was announced that a new model – the 959 would replace it.
Today, the Ducati 899 models can still be found all over the world – with the majority of them being found in the United Kingdom. Ducati enthusiasts, as well as, motorbike fans had a great appreciation for this model due to it being the first medium sized Ducati to hold a Superquadro engine. Ducati technicians and owners of the 899 can make use of a Ducati 899 workshop manual. These manuals provide in-depth, step by step guidance that allows for proper maintenance to be achieved on the 899 models.
