Aprilia Dorsoduro Service Repair Motorbike Manuals
The Aprilia Dorsoduro is a line of V-twin motorbikes produced by Aprilia, which is a subsidiary of Piaggio & C. SpA. The line of motorbikes consists of two models – the 750 cc and the newer version which is titled as the 1200 cc variant. However, there is also currently a Dorsoduro 900 model that is available to the public.
They are all quite similar in the sense that their appearances are nearly the same, but their common parts have some differences. Currently, these motorbikes can be maintained through the use of a Aprilia Dorsoduro service manual. These manuals help owners and technicians to keep both types of motorbikes in great shape.
The Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 was launched to the public in 2008 but was revealed at the EICMA show in Milan. It was originally known as the SMV 750 Dorsoduro which was based on the Shiver 750 which was quite successful. Both the engine and the frame were quite similar to the Shiver 750 but the suspension and tuning differed. The Dorsoduro 750 became Aprilia’s first model into the maxi-motorbike class. Aprilia was typically known for the opposite of what the Dorsoduro 750 was launched as. The Dorsoduro included common features that matched standard and touring motorbikes. These included an optional ABS and adjustable throttle mapping. With a claimed 92 brake horsepower at 8750 rpm, the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 weighed in at 186 kg.
In 2010, Aprilia released the Dorsoduro 1200. This 1200 cc model shared a few parts with the original 750 model. The motor within the Dorsoduro 1200 was designed based off of the Ducati 1198, with similar motors, bore and stroke. The chassis in the model 1200 has a larger fuel tank in order to better support the larger motor. The back of the motorbike contains a three-way adjustable rear shock – the preload, rebound and damping. Extra head shields below the seat covering the back subframe also add an additional element to the model 1200.
Currently, the Dorsoduro 900 is in production, and it has been since 2017. This version has an extra stroke and is modeled after the 2007 Shiver 749cc engine. This was done in order to meet European 4 emission standards. Three-spoke wheels help to save some of the additional weight, reducing it by 2.4 kg. The Dorsoduro 900 also features a new ride by wire system which is electro-mechanical. Today, the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 is still known to be the traditional Dorsoduro model. With the help of a Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 service manual, owners and technicians can keep these motorbikes in good shape so that they last forever.
