100 YRM 1458 Aurora Heater and Air Conditioner Aurora Heater and Air Conditioner HEATER SYSTEM General The Aurora heater system, as used until October 2008, can be identified by the presence of an air duct at the rear window. The MCC system, as used after October 2008, does not have this air duct. See Cab Heater (after Oct. 2008) 100 SRM 1459 for further information on MCC heater and air conditioning systems. The heater and optional air conditioning system reg- ulates the temperature and air flow, which enters the cab through the air vents at the front and rear windows. Temperature and air flow are regulated in the heater assembly which is located at the underside of the cab. When all doors and windows are closed, air leaves the cab at the top rear corner, where it is guided through the channels at the side of the cab. See Figure 1. The air control knob at the side console is connected to a vent door in the heater assembly by means of a push/ pull cable. The position of the vent door determines the ratio of fresh air and recirculated cab air. Fresh air is admitted through the cab air filter. The cab air filter is located at the left rear corner of the cab. The cab air filter can be replaced from outside of the cab. See Figure 1. Recirculated cab air enters from the side console through openings in the fuse cover. A. AIR FLOW 1. HEATER ASSEMBLY 2. CAB AIR FILTER Figure 1. Ventilation 1
