i FOREWORD This four-wheel sit-down counterbalanced forklift trucks made for material lifting and transportation (hereinafter referred to as forklift truck) are designed for the personnel aged 18 years old or above, and operator training is required for all forklift truck operators. SAFE and EFFICIENT OPERATION of a forklift truck depends to a great extent on the skill and alertness of the operator. To develop the skill, the operator should read this manual to understand the following points: (1) Working capabilities and limitations of the forklift truck (2) Make-up of the forklift truck (3) Safe driving and load handling procedures It is the employer's responsibility to make sure the operator can see, hear, and has the physical and mental ability to operate the forklift truck safely. It is also important that a qualified person experienced in forklift truck operation should guide new operators through several driving and load handling operations before they attempt to operate the forklift truck on their own. Note: - This manual contains information necessary for the operation and "Do-it-yourself" maintenance of standard forklift trucks. - Optional equipment is sometimes installed; it can change some operating characteristics described in this manual. Before operating such a forklift truck, make sure the necessary instructions are available and understood. - Forklift truck operator training may be offered through your authorized Mitsubishi forklift truck dealer. They will be glad to help you and answer any questions you may have about operating your new forklift truck. Forklift trucks are NOT intended for use on public roads. - If you resell a forklift truck, be sure to attach the original Operation & Maintenance Manual to the forklift truck.
