PAGE 1 HUNTER XCITE QUICK START GUIDE Introduction Thank you for purchasing the Hunter Xcite. For your safety, comfort, and enjoyment it is very important to rig your new boat correctly the first time. Please follow the instructions carefully. This quick start guide assumes that you have a basic knowledge of sailboats and sailing. If you don’t, find a friend who does to help you with the initial set up. Finally, this quick start guide is intended only to facilitate rigging and assembly, not as a sailing tutorial. PAGE 3 Slide the 2 sections of the mast together. Run main halyard so that the shackle side is aft. Pull halyard half way through. Insert mast in forward hole and slide onto mast base. Attach vang block to mast. Vang will be rigged later. Insert boom onto pin on goose- neck Setting Up The Mast
PAGE 4 Raising The Sail Attach halyard to clew in head of sail with shackle. Feed bolt- rope on mainsail into slot on mast as you hoist the sail. After the sail is raised, run halyard forward through cleat and tie off . Attach mainsail tack to hook on gooseneck. Attach outhaul to mainsail clew. Lead through outhaul bale. Pull to tighten and se- cure on outhaul cleat.
PAGE 5 Rigging the Vang and Mainsheet Completed Vang Assembly 2 4 1. Tie vang to vang fiddle block. 2. Run through upper sheave, from top on vang jam block. 3. Run back up through vang fiddle block from bot- tom. 4. Run through lower sheave, from top and pull up to jam. 1. Attach Bridle to eye straps on side of cockpit. 2. Attach Mainsheet shackle to bridle. 3. Run through mainsheet blocks on mast. 4. Run down through mainsheet ratchet block. 3 1 4 3 2 1
PAGE 6 Attach the rudder by pushing down on locking pin and sliding into slots in rudder bracket. Allow the locking pin to spring back up to lock rudder in place. Attach the tiller arm to the rudder with the nut & bolt provided. Attaching the Rudder, Tiller Arm and Hiking Strap Attach one end of the hiking strap to the rudder bracket and the other end to the mainsheet ratchet block eye strap with the hiking strap ties.
PAGE 7 The center board is lowered by pulling the center board control line out of jam cleat and releasing. To raise the center board, pull line back and jam into cleat. Getting Ready To Sail Attach the tiller arm extension to the end of tiller arm. Rigged and ready to go!
