MAZDA Engine Z5-DOHC Workshop Repair Shop Manual

The Mazda Engine Z5-DOHC Workshop Repair Shop Manual provides comprehensive information for the maintenance and repair of the Z5 engine. This 1.5 L (1489 cc, 92 hp) Z5-DE engine was utilized in the 1995-1998 Mazda Protegé, Mazda Lantis (Astina), and Mazda Familia Neo (1994-1997). With a bore and stroke of 75.3 mm (3.0 in) and 83.6 mm (3.3 in) respectively, the Z5 engine marked the inception of the newer Z-series line of Mazda engines.
The Z series of engines represents a fresh design while being rooted in the B-series. The block, block internals, and oil-pan bear resemblance to the B series of engines, but the DOHC head showcases a completely new design. The block is made of cast iron, featuring a 2-piece oil-pan design with an upper aluminum and lower stamped steel. Additionally, piston oil squirters come as standard equipment. The cylinder head boasts a compact design with round intake and exhaust ports. Notably, JDM versions of the Z5 engine produce 97 hp (72 kW) and 110 hp (82 kW).
