REPRINT – 2si Manual No. 1273 PREFACE The following is a reprint of the Service Manual (2si Part No. 1273), covering engines manufactured by the Cuyuna Engine Company, originally of Crosby, Minnesota. This manual is applicable to: MOST ENGINES MANUFACTURED THROUGH 1994 and SOME ENGINES MANUFACTURED INTO 1995 In 1995, Cuyuna Engine Company merged with AMW Engine Company to become AMW Cuyuna Engine Company, Inc. The latter remains the company's official corporate title, while the trade name "2 Stroke International" (abbreviated 2si) was adopted in 1996. The year 1995 also marks the initiation of design changes and introduction of new engine models. In 1996, the original format of bound manuals began to be replaced by a new format--modular sections, specialized by model groups, assembled in ring binders. This new format permits ease of updating, and the capability of adding new sections as they are developed. Owner's Manuals in the new format were introduced in 1997. Overhaul and repair sections are scheduled to be completed in 2001. Since basic construction (crankcase, cylinders, heads) of newer engine models remains similar to earlier models, basic repair and overhaul procedures detailed in this Early Models manual are generally applicable to the newer engines.
