About Ford Tractors:

The history of Ford Tractors traces back to Henry Ford, who began experimenting with gasoline engines around 1890. The Ford Tractor Company, later known as Fordson, was created to mass produce tractors. Over the years, Ford has produced numerous tractor models and continues to be a leading manufacturer in the industry.

The Early Tractors:

  • The Ford Model 9N tractor, introduced in mid-year 1939, was a joint venture between Henry Ford and Harry Ferguson, featuring the 3 point hitch and hydraulic system designed by Ferguson.
  • The Model 2N, produced between 1942 - 1947, was built without electrical components and rubber tires due to wartime material shortages.
  • The Model 8N, made between 1947 - 1952, underwent the first major redesign since 1939, featuring improvements in paint colors, horsepower, transmission, and hydraulic system.
  • The Ford Golden Jubilee NAA, produced from late 1952 through 1954, marked the end of 8N production and introduced a completely redesigned series with a more powerful engine and live hydraulics.
  • The one hundred series tractors, including models 600, 700, 800, and 900, were manufactured from 1954 to 1957, featuring various updates and improvements in horsepower and transmission options.
  • The one hundred and one series tractors, comprising models 501, 601, 701, 801, and 901, were made from 1957 to 1962, introducing further improvements and new options such as power steering.
  • The one thousand series tractors, including models 2000, 4000, and 6000, were produced from 1962 to 1964, featuring a restyled grille and a new corporate blue color.
