The Volvo XC60 is a compact luxury crossover SUV produced and sold by Volvo since 2008. It is currently in its second-generation. Although care was taken in the design and building of the XC60, like any vehicle they can still break down. In such cases, having a Volvo XC60 repair manual can help you get your VC60 back on the road in no time.
The XC60 is a member of Volvo's 60 Series of vehicles, along with the S60, V60, S60 Cross Country, and V60 Cross Country. The first generation XC60 introduced a new style for the 60 Series models. The entire lineup received a refresh in 2013.
The production vehicle was debuted in 2008, at the Geneva Motor Show. Sales began in Europe in 2008 and in North America in early 2009. Since 2009, the XC60 has been Volvo's bestselling car.
The first generation XC60 was built on Volvo's P3 platform and shared technology with the 2007 Land Rover Freelander. At the time of inception, both Volvo and Land Rover were owned by Ford and development was divided between the two subsidiaries. Much of the tuning and engineering of this CUV was done by Volvo in Sweden; however, the offroad capabilities were added by Land Rover in England.
An R-Design version of the XC60 was launched in April 2010, featuring a color-matching body kit, unique exterior/interior trim, and a stiffer chassis and damping. In February 2013, Volvo unveiled a reworked version of the XC60, scheduled for release for the 2014 model year. Exterior updates were largely cosmetic.
At the North American International Auto Show in 2012, the Volvo XC60 plug-in hybrid concept was debuted. The powertrain mated a 270 hp turbocharged 4-cylinder driving the front wheels with a 70 hp electric motor powering the rear wheels, giving the powertrain a peak combined output of 350 hp.
The second-generation XC60 was debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 2017. The first since Volvo was purchased by Geely. As part of Volvo's constant peregrination toward smaller engines, the new model uses only 4-cylinder engines, in various configurations and states of tune. However, don’t forget if you ever need help servicing your XC60, having a Volvo XC60 service manual can make any repair job go easier.
