The Vauxhall Meriva was produced from from 2003 until 2017. This five seater estate style car was made in two generations, each with upgrades throughout the years they were in production. Each year better than the last, the Meriva is truly missed in the new car buying world, but the used models are running strong still today!
The first generation Meriva was produced from 2003 until 2010. It was available in 5 different engine options including the 1.4 liter petrol, 1.6 liter petrol, 1.8 liter turbocharged petrol, a 1.3 liter Diesel engine, and 1.7 liter petrol engine. The 5 speed and 6 speed manual transmissions are a lot of fun to drive and the 5 speed automatic lets you relax while the transmission does the work for you.
The interior of the Meriva A had so many incredible features when it was first released that the car was flying off the showroom floors everywhere. It offered a flexible interior called FlexSpace. The customizable space saving seat design allows you to slide the seats or stow them away for increased storage space. It also fit 5 inside comfortably. The second row of seating can be used with 3 seats in a bench seat style or the middle seat can be removed for more space between the outside seats.
The second generation Meriva B was produced from 2010 to 2017. The second generation is slightly larger than the first but still is classified as a compact car. The Meriva received several updates between the end of production of the A and the launch of the Meriva B. It offered an improved suspension layout, more interior space, and a FlexDoor design that were rear hinged. Production ended in June of 2017.
