Suzuki Ignis Service Repair Workshop Manuals
Suzuki produced a subcompact vehicle called the Ignis between 2000 and 2008. The company then brought it back in 2016. Anyone who owns an Ignis should consider adding the Suzuki Ignis workshop manual as a handy reference guide to this vehicle.
The first generation of the Ignis was offered as a 3-door hatchback and a 5-door hatchback. This family of vehicles were equipped with a new generation of engines, the M family. They featured DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder and variable valve timing. The Ignis was offered as a standard 5 speed manual transmission, but the 4-speed automatic transmission was optional to consumers.
In 2003, Suzuki added new trim levels, a redesigned grille, and clear turn signal lenses.
The Sport Ignis was introduced in 2003 as well. This was offered as a 3-door hatchback and there were several modifications for this vehicle. The suspension was lower to the ground and firmer, a close ratio gearbox and a tuned exhaust. Additionally, the roof bars were removed from the sport edition. Special sports seats were included in the front and the dashboard was white with blue illumination. The Sport Ignis was able to go from 0-62 in 8.9 second and boasted a top speed of 115mph. The Sport edition was available in blue, black, silver and yellow and red and several options were available, such as metallic pedals and driving lights in the front bumper. In 2015 Suzuki ended production of the Sport Ignis.
Updates to the first generation of the Suzuki Ignis were unveiled in 1999 at the Tokyo Motor Show and it was rebranded as the Chevrolet Cruze. In Europe, Suzuki used the Cruze modifications on the Ignis. Additionally, the car was made longer. This longer length was more accommodating to customers who needed more room in the car for families and luggage.
The second generation of the Ignis began in 2016. This time around the body of the vehicle was lighter. The company started using a modular platform when building their engines. In the UK and Europe, the Ignis is offered as both a standard gas car and also as a hybrid car with lithium ion batteries that are placed under the front seats.
Over the years, Suzuki has managed to update the Ignis to meet the needs of their consumers. This is evident by the addition of a hybrid car to the Ignis family. No matter what generation or version of the car you may have, the Suzuki Ignis service manual is a smart addition.
