Scion iQ Service Repair Workshop Manuals
The Toyota Scion iQ was known in auto critic circles for its engineering. But apart from that, the iQ was much like its Scion family members. The iQ isn’t a difficult vehicle to work on, but ensuring you have a Scion iQ service manual will definitely make certain that you don’t encounter any hiccups along the way.
The iQ is an FWD, transverse-engined vehicle that was manufactured and sold by Toyota. The iQ is known for its specialized engineering to optimize passenger space while minimizing exterior length. The design accommodates three passengers. In March 2008, the iQ debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. The iQ won the Japanese Car of the Year that same year. The letters ""iQ"" also stand for ""innovative individuality"" and "quality".
The iQ design emphasized maneuverability, low fuel consumption, maximized interior space, and environmental friendliness. Six specific design factors contribute to IQ's forward windscreen location, minimal overhangs, maximized overall compactness and cabin space were, a flat fuel tank positioned underneath the cabin floor, a center take-off steering gear, a rear-angled shock absorbers to encroach less on rear passenger space, asymmetric dashboard, smaller heater/air conditioning unit mounted centrally behind the, and slimmer seat design.
The iQ featured a transmissions differential housing located in front of the engine rather than behind it; a starter motor was incorporated into the engine's flywheel, a high-mounted steering rack and a compact, high-located air conditioning unit behind the central dashboard area. The rear overhang was reduced by a shallow under-floor fuel tank, while the seating arrangement allowed the front passenger to sit slightly forward of the driver, allowing rear passengers increased legroom.
Due to its overall engine displacement and width, the iQ is classified in the Japanese auto market as a supermini. Production of the Scion iQ EV was to be limited to 100 units for special fleet use in Japan and carsharing demonstration projects in the U.S.Deliveries of the all-electric version with a range of 50 mi (80 km) began in the U.S. in March 2013.
Although the iQ is no longer in production, doesn’t mean you cannot still spot them here and there. If you ever find yourself working on one of these vehicles, having a Scion iQ repair manual ensures the job will go more smoothly.
