00-001/02 - 2001 - 2002 Tribute - STAMPING OF ENGINE NUMBER DURING REPLACEMENT SI107144 TSB NUMBER: 00-001/02 For Internal Mazda Corporate Use Only DESCRIPTION APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS 2001-2002 Tributes registered in the States of Georgia and Tennessee. DESCRIPTION In some states, stamping of the engine type and serial number is required during the replacement of short-engine, partial-engine, engine block, and etc. There should be NO engines with the same engine number. Some engines supplied from Mazdas service parts sale channels are not stamped with the engine type or serial number. NOTE:  As of December 2001, some 3.0L V6 engines (AJ) supplied from service parts are not stamped with engine type and serial number.  As of December 2001, the applicable states for this service information are States of Georgia and Tennessee. Before you install a non-stamped engine in a vehicle, be sure to follow the instruction below. REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Inspect the replacement engine for the eight digits of the serial number and the two digits of engine type. If not present, proceed to Step 2.

2. Stamp the last eight digits of the VIN and the two digits of the engine type.

The WDS PTU batteries are considered a consumable item and most have been in use for several years. WDS PTU batteries are available for purchase on Mazda Tool and Equipment website. 00-001/03 - MULTI-MODEL - WDS MS-CAN 16-PIN CABLE SHIPMENT SI108502 TSB NUMBER: 00-001/03 For Internal Mazda Corporate Use Only DESCRIPTION APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS MULTI-MODEL DESCRIPTION Mazda will ship to all dealers an updated WDS cable at NO CHARGE. This new WDS cable is required to communicate with the new Medium Speed CAN (MS-CAN) network being introduced on new model vehicles. The cable can be identiﬁed by the blue 16-pin connector. The existing 418-F231 (B-203) DLC cable can still be used, except on those vehicles using the MS-CAN communication network. The new 418-F557 (B-259) DLC cable can be used in place of the 418-F231 (B-203) DLC cable on past models and on new MS-CAN supported models. The new MS-CAN supported DLC cable can be used once your WDS is loaded with B25 or later CD. PRICING One (1) 418-F557 cable is being shipped to all dealers at NO CHARGE.
