WDS support information was communicated in the “WDS Support Extension Program” documentation sent to all dealers as part of the 1-year extension agreement. The WDS PTU batteries are considered a consumable item and most have been in use for several years. WDS PTU batteries are available for purchase on Mazda Tool and Equipment website. APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS, DESCRIPTION and SPECIAL SERVICE TOOL (SST) & USAGE have been revised. APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS 1996-2003 Protege 1997-2002 Millenia 1997-2002 626 1997-2005 MX-5 Miata 1997-2005 MPV 1997-2005 B-Series Trucks 2003-2005 Mazda6 2004-2005 Mazda3 2004-2005 RX-8 2001-2005 Tribute For Internal Mazda Corporate Use Only DESCRIPTION In support of current models with OBD II evaporative monitoring systems; evaporative cap and receiver adapters are available. Cap and receiver adapters are used for testing the vehicle's evaporative emissions system. The adapters are used to test the vehicle's evaporative emission system at the fuel ﬁller neck and the fuel cap. NOTE: Mazda evaporative emissions cap and receiver adapters use a standard OBD port thread type. For Mazda dealers not currently using the Mazda Evaporative Emissions Tester (134-01049), these adapters may be adaptable to non-Mazda Evaporative Emissions Testers. Adaptability to non-Mazda Evaporative Emissions Testers can be conﬁrmed by verifying that the tester's vehicle connection hose uses the same thread type as the 2004 model year B-Series or Tribute under hood OBD port (located under the green cap in the engine compartment). If the tester uses the same thread type as this OBD port, the new adapters may be used with non-Mazda tester.
