XJ6

The Jaguar XJ6 is the name given to Jaguar XJ models equipped with a six-cylinder Jaguar XK engine. This includes Jaguar XJ models from Series 1 all that way through to Series 3. Production of the Series 2 ended in 1979, after which the Series 3 models took over. The exterior appearance of the vehicle changed again, featuring rubber bumpers and a design that sported more window area than the previous models. These XJ6s were offered with a 3.4L or 4.2L engine, and ultimately were produced until 1987. After this year, every XJ model was classified as an XJ12 due to the larger engine they were equipped with.
