In 2002 Isuzu began to produced their pick-up truck, the Isuzu D-Max. Many Isuzu collectors like to own this truck since it was the original pick-up truck for Isuzu. If you do own the Isuzu D-Max, you should consider having the Isuzu D-Max repair manual as well.

The Isuzu D-Max first made an appearance in Asia. The first generation Isuzu D-Max was available with several different options. It was available for purchase as a single cab, double cab, extended cab, and a 4x2 with different configurations.

In November of 2004, Isuzu released the MU-7. This was a 7 passenger vehicle built on the same D-Max bed. The major difference is that the bed is covered. This vehicle was marketed as an SUV. This version was available as either a 4x2 or a 4x4 and was built with a special suspension system.

The second generation of Isuzu D-Max was made available from 2012 to the present. Even though this vehicle mimics the Chevrolet Colorado, there are distinct differences. Isuzu made sure to use their own engine and drivetrain in their D-Max models. Isuzu also upgraded the engine with this generation. Additionally, Isuzu continues to offer the D-Max in 3 different cab styles -Single Cab, Space Cab, and Crew Cab.

Another upgraded feature in the second generation of the Isuzu D-Max is the use of the “I-Grip”. I-Grip is Isuzu’s redesigned ladder frame chassis.

The second generation Isuzu D-Max was also still offered to customers with the option of a 4x2 or 4x4 drive.

The model year 2014 saw some new improvements to the Isuzu D-Max. Daytime running lights were one such addition. Isuzu also updated the fog lights and the rear lights.

In 2017 Isuzu debuted new changes to the D-Max back in Thailand. This time they added new front grille and bumpers, LED lights, updated alloy wheels and some updates to the interior.

The Isuzu D-Max sold in Africa, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, China, and Europe. Isuzu’s D-Max is a truck that has enjoyed a solid market in many Asian and European countries. It has undergone a few changes and updates over the years.

Fans of Isuzu vehicles will enjoy having the Isuzu D-Max in their possession. One of the joys of collecting cars is being able to perform DIY repairs and maintenance.
