It is recommended to: 1) use a dedicated GFI (Ground Fault Interrupt) protected circuit or GEM GFI charger cord; 2) plug the cord into an outlet with nothing else on the breaker/outlet circuit, this line works best as a dedicated circuit; 3) use standard household 110-Volt AC, 15-Amp line power. The Master Disconnect Switch, located under the bench seat, must be in the ‘ON’ position. The Delta-Q charger is silent and doesn’t make any noise while charging other than a click sound just after plugging the power cord into the receptacle as the charger powers up and again after unplugging the power cord as it has completed its charge cycle and AC power is removed. The Delta-Q charger installed in your vehicle operates as follows: 1. Plug the power cord into the receptacle on the vehicle. 2. The LED on the top of the display panel should flash RED -YELLOW -GREEN for two seconds as it performs a quick self-test of the charger. 3. The LED will be RED for one second indicating that the charger is checking the battery temperature. 4. The LED will blink GREEN continuously throughout the rest of the charge cycle. *NOTE: In hot climates the LED may blink YELLOW for part of the charge time. The charge cycle may take 8 to 12 hours to complete. 5. When the charge cycle is complete the LED should be a solid GREEN colored light. In some cases, especially with new batteries, at the end of the charge cycle you may see the LED blinking RED twice, pause and repeat the two RED blinks continually until the AC power cord is unplugged 30-60 seconds to reset the charger. This is the only way to reset the fault code! *NOTE: The RED two blink at the end of the charge cycle is an indication that the charger has fully charged the batteries. The batteries reached full charge before the timed circuit in the charger could time out. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about. Another feature, if you leave the power cord plugged in, providing the power to the charger has not been interrupted, the charger will power up and recharge the batteries every 7-14 days, depending on battery style (water-based flooded or Gel sealed) for up to 24 cycles. This is called the Storage Maintenance Charge (SMC) cycle. *NOTE: For the 7-14 day Storage Maintenance Charge (SMC) restart feature the DC/DC converter must be replaced with the latest Sure Power DC/DC converter kit. GEM recommends charging the car when not in use. It is recommended not to drive the car below 20% battery power as this may cause battery damage. Give this sheet to customer!
