These pagescom- pletely replace the previous issue. Revisions to this Manual will be distributed on a periodic basis to update the content matter and to provide broader coverage.

FOREWORD Understanding The Manual This Manual is divided into groups covering separate areas of the car. The groups range from 1000 (Engine) to 25000 (Glass - Channels - Seals). Labor Operations There are two tvpes of operations listed throughout the manual. They are "Rasic" and "Combination" operations. A Basic operation is a complete single operation and is identi- fied with a number which is correlated to the group number of the part or assembly being repaired or replaced. A Combination operation is an additional repair which is performed in conjunction to the Basic operation and is related to the basic components. These Combinations are never used singly, They must be used in conjunction with a Basic repair operation. They are identified with a letter (A, B, C, etc.) and always follow the Basic operation to which they are ap- plicable. Replace This is to remove a part or assembly and replace it with a new part or assembly. This in- cludes clean, adjust, lubricate and transfer parts if necessary, unless otherwise noted. Overhaul This is to completely disassemble a unit, clean, inspect all parts and reassemble the unit with the necessary new parts. lt also includes lubrication and necessary adjustments.

| | Inspect This is to examine a part, component or system to determine correct function or condition. Check This is to verify that a system, component or measurement is within specification. Adjust This is to bring a part, component or system into required specification in relation to dimension, measurement, pressure etc. It is recommended that all personnel using this manual be thoroughly familiar with the terms and procedures outlined in the Warranty Policy Administration Manual.
