The Passat is a midsize car that has been manufactured by Volkswagen for years. It is popular with families and people who commute for work due to the spacious interior and great fuel economy. It is full of detailed instructions with easy to read details to guide you through the process.

The Passat was first produced in 1972. The first generation was called the B1 and was manufactured until 1984. It was launched as a two or four door sedan as well as a three and four door version. They all shared the same styling. It was one of the most modern cars on the market at the time due to advanced style and engine designs. The original engines were the 1.3 liter and 1.5 liter petrol.

The second generation Passat, B2, was produced from 1981 until 1988. In addition to the models above a saloon version was also launched. In 1985 the Passat received a facelift including new bumpers, interior retouching, a new grille, and new tail lights. World production at this time was approaching 4.5 million units.

The third generation was known as the B3 and B4. It was manufactured from 1988 and 1996. At the time, the Passat was the owner of the first transverse engine layout built on a Volkswagen. The fuel injected engine improved performance making it even more desirable. It was also available with a turbocharged direct injection Diesel engine. The 1993 facelift included a new safety system including dual front airbags.

The fourth generation, B5 and B5.5, was produced from 1997 and 2006. In 2001 the Passat received updates to the style and engine system. Revisions included projector headlights, bumpers, tail lights, and trim. A 4.0 liter engine was introduced in 2001.

The fifth generation, B6 and B7, was released in 2005 and manufactured until 2015. In 2008 the 2.0 engine was replaced by a 1.8 liter engine with automatic six speed transmission. It was more luxurious than before and in the CC model it offered hands-free parking, Adaptive suspension, lane departure prevention, and intelligent cruise control.

The current sixth generation B8 is the one currently on the market. The performance mid size sedan offers comfort, fun, and style all wrapped in to one amazing car. Some features are App-Connect technology, VW Car-Net Security and Service, and multiple safety features. The exterior is sleek and stylish.
