Peugeot 508 Service Repair Workshop Manuals

French car maker Peugeot debuted a large family car, the 508, in 2010. This car would run for successive generations and enjoy a following. Owners of this car would benefit from having the Peugeot 508 workshop repair manual on hand as a reference.

In 2010 Peugeot introduced their new car at the Paris Motor Show. The 508 sedan which was 189 inches long and the 508 SW station wagon, which was slightly longer. Compared to earlier models, the 508 had a slightly larger rear passenger section.

Peugeot ran the first generation of 508 vehicles from 2010-2018. The 508’s produced for European sales were designed with diesel engines. These engines could be fitted with an e-micro hybrid system. This included an electronically controlled automatic gearbox, which reduced fuel consumption. The fuel tank itself was slightly larger and allowed the car to be driven 1017 miles.

Eventually the 508’s would have a Hybrid4 diesel electric hybrid powertrain, which would reduce fuel consumption and emissions even further.

At the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the company unveiled a hybrid electric crossover deluxe station wagon, the 508 RXH. This model had some features that the others did not. The wheel arches were flared on the RXH and the grille was color coded with 3 columns of LED running lights on each side. It was originally intended to be a special edition, but ultimately became a regular option.

During the Geneva Motor Show in March of 2010, Peugeot showcased the 508 coupe, or the Peugeot SR1. This car was a concept hybrid power car that would go on sale in 2012.

The second generation of the Peugeot 508 began in 2019. This generation was also unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. The second-generation station wagon was introduced at the 2018 Paris Motor Show.

This generation of the 508 does have a few options available. It is available with a choice of 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with different outputs and 3 turbodiesel options as well. The automatic transmission had been updated and a plug-in hybrid is in development.

The 508L has been introduced at the Guangzhou Auto Show in 2018 and is intended for Chinese consumers only. It is a longer car than its European counterpart and there are a few other differences with the taillights and the rear door. These changes helped to make the 508L cheaper.

Clearly the 508 is well designed car that will be on the roads for many more years. Owners of the 508 are encouraged to have the Peugeot 508 service manual on hand to help them with maintenance.
