Master Repair Manual Foreword This manual is designed primarily for use by snowmobile servicetechniciens in a properly equipped shop. Since a certain knowledge a/mechanical theory, tool use, and shop procedures are necessary to perform the servicing work satisfactorily, all operations should be carried out only by qualified service personnel. In order to perform the work efficiently and prevent costly errors, the technician should read the text, thoroughly familiarizing himself with procedures before starting the work. Cleanliness of both the component to be repaired and the work area is of major importance. This manual includes procedures for maintenance operations, Component identification, and unit repair, along with service specifications for the 1972 through 1981 model Polaris snowmobiles. The handy section index tabs will . enable the user to quickly locate the component unit section he desires. In addition, a table of contents is placed at the beginning of each section for location of specific page numbers and service in formation pertinent.to: that component.
