LUBRICATION SERVICE INTERVALS Corvette Change fluid in overdrive unit every 30,000 miles. Metro Under normal driving conditions, transaxle fluid does not need replacing. Under severe driving conditions, replace fluid every 12,000 miles or 12 months. Prizm Transaxle fluid only needs replacing when transaxle is overhauled. Saturn Change fluid at 6000 miles. After initial oil change, no regular service is required. Storm Replace transaxle fluid every 30,000 miles under normal driving conditions. Under severe driving conditions, change fluid every 15,000 miles. All Others Fluid replacement is not required, except at time of overhaul. Check fluid level at each engine oil change. CHECKING FLUID LEVEL Camaro, Corvette, Firebird, Metro, Prizm & Storm Corvette (6-Speed) ZF S6- 40 95mm Firebird 5-Speed Borg-Warner 77mm 6-Speed Borg-Warner 85mm CAUTION: On Camaro and Firebird, DO NOT remove reverse shift lever pin (largest hex-shaped bolt) on LEFT side of case. Check lubricant level at filler plug hole on right side of transmission. Lubricant should be level with bottom of filler plug hole. Add lubricant as necessary to bring to correct level. All Others Park vehicle on level surface. Check fluid level when fluid is COLD. Fluid should be at FULL mark on dipstick. See Fig. 1 .
