If it only “drags” when you turn the wheel, especially more to the left, I’d start by treating it as a steering/suspension or brake drag issue.
A few things can cause that on a 2022 F-150:
- It could be a front brake caliper sticking, especially if one front wheel feels hotter than the other after driving. A dragging brake can feel worse when turning because the weight shifts and the wheel load changes.
- It could also be something in the front suspension or steering, like a tight ball joint, tie rod end, wheel bearing, or something binding in the steering rack/EPAS system. If it feels like the truck is fighting you or pulling down/dragging only when turning left, that’s worth checking properly.
- Also check the simple stuff first, like tire pressure, tire rubbing, uneven tire wear, loose splash shield/liner, or oversized tires rubbing the inner fender when turned.
I wouldn’t ignore it, especially on a truck that new. If it’s brake drag or steering bind, it can get worse quickly. Good thing is, the service manual will give the proper troubleshooting path, inspection points, torque specs, and repair procedures for the steering, suspension, brake, and electronic power steering systems.
Feel free to send us more details about your truck, and we can help point you to the correct manual.
