On the Polaris Ranger 700, the fuel rail sits on top of the intake where the injectors feed into the engine. To replace the injectors, the rail has to come off with the injectors attached first.
The usual process goes like this:
- First disconnect the battery and relieve fuel pressure (cycling the key off and letting it sit usually does the trick). Then remove the air intake components or throttle body ducting if they’re in the way.
- Next, disconnect the electrical connectors from each injector. After that, remove the fuel line going to the rail—there’s usually a quick-connect fitting.
- Once that’s done, remove the bolts holding the fuel rail to the intake manifold. With those out, you can gently pull the fuel rail straight up. The injectors are sealed with O-rings, so it may take a little wiggling to free them from the intake ports.
- When the rail comes up, the injectors usually come out with it. You can then remove the clips and slide the injectors out of the rail. When installing the new ones, it’s a good idea to lightly oil the O-rings so they seat without tearing.
That’s the general idea, but the exact steps and torque specs can vary a bit depending on the year and exact Ranger 700 model.
If you want the full step-by-step procedure with diagrams, it’s all covered in the repair manual. Just let us know the exact model year of your Ranger 700, and we can point you to the correct manual.
