On most 2006 Focus engines, the top plastic engine cover is either just clipped on or held by a couple of small fasteners, depending on engine.
Here’s the usual way:
Open the hood and look at the cover.
- If it’s the clip-on type:
- Just grab the cover firmly with both hands
- Pull straight up, starting from one corner
- It’ll pop off the rubber grommets
- If it has bolts:
- You’ll usually see 2–4 bolts (10mm or Torx)
- Remove those first, then lift the cover off
