The correct assembly stack inside the bore is Valve (Plunger) first, followed by the Spring, and then the Retainer Cap/Plug.
Valve Orientation
The valve itself has a solid/flat face on one end and a hollow/cupped opening on the other.
- The Solid End goes DOWN (into the bore first). This is the face that seals the oil bypass port.
- The Hollow End faces UP (towards you). The spring nests inside this cup to keep it aligned within the bore.
Fitment Check
Before installing the spring, drop the valve in and ensure it slides freely up and down the aluminum bore without binding. Once confirmed, drop the spring into the hollow end of the valve and install the cap.
I hope it helps! 💪
