If your XC90 actually has the built-in fridge/cool box in the rear, then the button above it is simply the ON/OFF switch for the fridge.
Usually it only works when the ignition is on or the car is in accessory mode, depending on year. When it’s on, the fridge uses the vehicle’s electrical system to keep things cool (not a household-style fridge, more like a proper car cooler)
