On the Ford/New Holland 5030 the glow plugs are pretty easy to find once you know where to look — they’re right in the cylinder head, one for each cylinder.
How to spot them:
- Look on the right side of the engine block (when you’re sitting in the seat)
- You’ll see small pencil-shaped plugs screwed into the head
- They’re all tied together with a small bus bar or individual wires running across them
- The wires lead back to the glow plug relay/solenoid
If yours has been worked on before, that bus bar can sometimes be missing or replaced with separate crimp connectors, but they’re basically right above the injectors in a row along the head.
